Company Profile

Packaging Systems Engineering Inc. was formed at the end of 1984 as a company dedicated to the design, development, and implementation of "Turn Key" packaging, and material handling systems. Throughout the years we have engaged in numerous projects in industries which range from the meat and poultry, to many different food and drink venues, to industrial chemicals, to the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.

Our background and expertise primarily come from the our President, Bob Lakey with over thirty years in the business of designing and building many different forms of packaging and material handling systems. His family is well respected in packaging machinery circles as being top notch engineers that build state of the art packaging machinery for over 50 years. Our expertise also come from our sister company, Lakey Packaging Inc. which was started in January of 1981. Lakey Packaging Inc. is a manufacturer's represenative and distributor business which sells for over 40 different companies, throughout the world, in the packaging, and material handling industries. This business involves us in virtually hundreds of different types of machines. It's foundation has allowed us to gain a tremendous knowledge in numerous industries, with a wide variety of applications.

Our real expertise lies in our ability to identify a customer's true needs and develop a packaging and material handling system which will meet those needs; not only for the moment, but for the future as well. We have learned that solid, reliable, and well defined systems will bring repeat business from our customers.

Within the last 14 years we have designed systems for clients such as:

Mars
M & M Mars Co.
Denny's
Denny's
Kraft
Kraft Foods
Coke
Coca Cola
Frito Lay
Frito Lay
Glidden
Glidden Paint
tyson
Tyson Chicken

Stanley Tool Works, Bowater Computer Forms, Knell Pharmaceuticals, Rockland Industries, Novartis, and Zeon Chemical just to name a few. These systems included such devices and systems which automatically weigh and bag products, low, medium and high speed liquid filling lines, automatic case packing, vertical and horizontal form/fill/seal systems, automatic palletizing, data collection and inventory management systems, production management systems, all forms of marking and bar coding, all forms of material handling systems, production sortation devices, robotic assembly and pick and place systems, and many, many more.

Our unique approach to designing a "Turn Key" system provides us with a nearly limitless number of choices for a systems design. Because we are not a manufacturer, we have no pre-conceived bios toward any specific manufacturer. We will search the world over to find the best manufacturers for each component piece within the system. We then research all potential vendors for their ability to meet the job's specifications.

Once this analysis is completed, we develop a full report for each firm. Then, when applicable, the customer will decide, with us, which manufacturers are best suited for each system's task. This unique approach assures that we select the best equipment at the highest performance level, at the lowest capital expenditure.

All of our designs are laid out using Autocad R13 or R14. We can provide you with drawing on disk as well as on paper. This gives us the ability to look at different layout potentials much more easily and allows us to insert different machine considerations into the drawings. We can also accept your Autocad layouts, of your facility, and integrate our layouts into it for a true plant design.

We completely guarantee that each and every system, we sell, will perform according to the original specification. If there are any problems with the system's ability to meet the expected performance criteria, it is our responsibility to modify or change the system until it does comply with the specifications. The customer is protected from being charged for modifications arising from the system not being specified correctly in the first place.

We try very hard to make sure that the information gathered from the customer is sufficient to assure a successful system design and installation. Yes we have had problem during the start-up of systems in the past. Who hasn't!! The difference is that we always resolved the problems as fast as possible and not a single customer has ever been charged an additional dollar for mistakes made by us or our chosen vendors.

In summary, we firmly believe that the approach Packaging Systems Engineering Inc. takes in developing our "Turn Key Systems" is the best way to handle your particular needs. We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to join the many satisfied customers we have helped throughout the years.
